a very serious competition
I’ve written 57 songs and genuinely don’t know which ones are any good. So, I’m settling it the only fair way: combat.
Two songs enter the ring. You press play, listen, then crown a winner — and two fresh contenders step up. It’s all very dramatic and very important.
Do three battles or thirty. Bail whenever. But seriously, every verdict quietly builds a ranked list, and it genuinely helps me decide which songs to release for real on Spotify and Apple Music.
No wrong answers. Trust your gut. You’re the decider.

57 songs · just press play. They’ll keep going on their own.
This list is ordered by the crowd — best first. Want to move a song up?

Pull the songs you’d build an album around toward the top. This seeds the “everyone” ranking as your one voice — the crowd’s battles move it from there. You don’t have to perfect all 57; getting your favorites up top is the point.

I’m always writing more. When a new song steps into the ring, I’ll send one short email so you can come crown it. No spam — just new music.

A favorite, a hot take, a “you should release ___” — it lands straight in my inbox.
the fine print
Every song starts even. Each battle nudges both fighters a little — win and you climb, lose and you slip — and beating a strong song is worth more than beating a weak one. (It’s an Elo rating, same idea as chess or tennis.)
Reactions, belts, and badges are just for fun — they don’t move the ranking. Two songs that look out of order are usually near‑ties that sort themselves out with more battles.

The more judges, the truer the ranking. Know someone with strong opinions about music? Send them in — even a couple of battles helps.
