a very serious competition
I’ve written 57 songs and I genuinely don’t know which ones are any good. So I’m settling it the only fair way: combat.
Two songs enter the ring. You press play, you listen, you crown a winner. The champion struts back out to face the next challenger — until something finally dethrones it. Occasionally a fallen champ comes back for a grudge match. It’s all very dramatic and very important.
Do three battles or thirty. Bail whenever. Every verdict quietly builds a ranked list, and it genuinely helps me decide which songs to release for real on Spotify and Apple Music.
No wrong answers. Trust your gut. Be a little ruthless.

Pull the songs you’d build an album around toward the top. This seeds the “everyone” ranking as your one voice — the crowd’s battles move it from there. You don’t have to perfect all 57; getting your favorites up top is the point.
